Dr. Alvarez is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a Diplomate for the National Board of Medical Examiners of the United States of America.Dr. Alvarez has 33 years of experience in the medical field. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Florida Medical Association, Polk County Medical Association, Christian Medical and Dental Association, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
He served as a board member for A Woman's Choice from 2008 to 2013 and is a medical director at Plant City Pregnancy Care Center. Dr. Alvarez is also involved on the administrative side at Women’s Care as the Electronic Healthcare Records Chairman and is a member of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Alvarez received his medical education from the Ponce School of Medicine, ranking 4th in his class of 45 students, was Student Council Representative, Class Secretary, and was on the National Dean’s List. He completed an internship and his medical residency at the State University of New York’s Department of OBGYN at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, where he was the Administrative Chief Resident and received the Vincent J. Capraro, M.D. Award for Outstanding Chief Resident in OBGYN.
